Win Tickets To Phantasmagoria: Photographs by Marco Sanges!

In association with Proud Camden gallery, I’d like to inform you about the upcoming exhibition, Phantasmagoria: Photographs by Marco Sanges, which will be running from 26th July until 30th September 2012.

Marco Sanges is an Italian award winning photographer, who’s impressive client list includes Agent Provocateur, Dolce & Gabbana, Italian Vogue, The Sunday Telegraph, Elle, B&W Photography, Creative Review, La Repubblica, Esquire, and Harper’s Bazaar. Not only that, but he’s had fourteen international exhibitions in the last 8 years. Add to that his film Circumstances (from the Sanges’ own book of photography of the same name) has won multiple awards, and we are talking about someone who has an immense and very impressive body of work.

The Phantasmagoria exhibition is a retrospective of Sanges’ surreal and evocative black and white photography, including work with Agent Provocateur. The large scale prints are bespoke to be site specific at Proud Camden, and follows on from his 2012 exhibition Beyond Decadence, which was part of Amsterdam Fashion Week and Amsterdam Gay Pride.

Those who are aware of my own work and tastes will understand that I am quite excited to see this myself, ‘An imaginary cinema of nudity and voyeurism, creating a fantasy world which provokes, astounds and delights’.

The photographs I have been graciously given permission to reproduce here for you (all © Marco Sanges), demonstrate the wonderful erotic nature of his work, the ability of a photograph to draw you in, giving you a glimpse in to something mysterious and surreal- a still frame from a dream. In my opinion, the true nature of eroticism is to arouse the mind, rather than the body. It is what sets erotic art photography so far apart from simple glamour or pornography. It connects more with the whole photograph, the scene and the events occurring- not just the flesh on show. Sanges is a master at this, and a master visual story teller. These are a view in to the mind of a very creative individual, one I would love to have the talent to emulate.

I would implore any of you in London in September to pay a visit to Proud Camden, and experience the exhibition for yourselves. I will be attending the opening evening on the 25th July.

And you can too!

Thanks to Proud Camden, I have 20 pairs of tickets (20 tickets with a +1) up for grabs for the prestigious opening event!

If you would like the opportunity to join us at Proud Camden on Wednesday 25th, 6.30-8.30, head over to my Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/chriswparkerphoto, for more on how to win tickets.

Own your own Chris W Parker fine art print!

Hello everyone.

Following on from the exhibition in Edinburgh at the Festival Of The Erotic Arts of some of my Abstract Projections series, I am going to expanding the project in to a much bigger and considered project over the next 6 months. I have quite particular ideas in mind.

But in the meantime, I am going to be offering a special portrait session in the Abstract Projections style, for anyone who would like to have their own abstract erotic portrait, taken by an internationally published and exhibited photographer. For £300 you can have your own 18x12inch framed print of yourself, or your partner in a unique style you won’t find anywhere else. There will also be some low resolution digital images as well - just not big enough to print, and watermarked.

If you’re not aware of the Abstract Projections project, please take a look here: http://chriswparker.co.uk/3671/431924/gallery/abstract-projections

If you have other print size requirements, then I’m happy to discuss them. This is a limited offer, and it won’t be running that long, depending on demand.

Please email me on chris@chriswparker.co.uk if you would like more info, or please feel free to share this with anyone you might think would be interested.

Thanks!
Chris

(Of course, this is UK only sorry! Unless you wanna pay my airfare…)

chriswparker:

I had a great time at the Erotica: Abstract & Surreal exhibition, and a great couple of days meeting new friends, talking to other artists, and generally having fun.

A few photos of the exhibition.

The Festival of Erotic Arts

I’m really pleased to say that some of my recent work with Katie Louise has been invited to participate in an exhibition, Erotic: Surreal & Abstract, which is going to be part of the Festival of the Erotic Arts to be held in Edinburgh in June.

You can get more information about the festival here: http://www.erotic-arts.co.uk/ (I’ve just read on the festival’s facebook page that detail of the exhibition will be announced on their website tomorrow.)

I’ll be showing 3 pieces (yet to be chosen) from the recent Abstract Projections set I did. All printed and framed and shiny and nice and stuff. Yay! They’ll also be for sale, if anyone’s interested. I will also (depending on how much/if any interest I have) be arranging a limited edition run of the same prints after the exhibition, but I will announce that nearer the time.

So if you’re in Scotland, or at the festival in June (21-24th), please do let me know, or come and see the whole thing!
